Prolonged Nightly Fasting and Breast Cancer Prognosis

This video explains the findings from this study. Women with breast cancer (and not diabetic) who fasted more than 13 hours each night had decreased rates of recurrence. Women who fasted less than 13 hours did not have a statistically significant increase in breast cancer mortality or all cause mortality. The other finding was that for each 2 hour increase in nightly fasting there was a significantly lower hemoglobin A1C (blood sugar test) and longer duration of sleep. Women that ate later at night (after 8 pm) was associated with a higher CRP (marker for inflammation) and higher BMI (body mass index).
